Description

Serpent Bohème, a floral bouquet for a free and emancipated woman

Very often, these two worlds come together and give birth to sumptuous fragrances. This is the case with Boucheron’s new creation: Serpent Bohème, a feminine fragrance paying tribute to one of the brand most famous jewelry collections.

Serpent Bohème, a floral bouquet for a free and emancipated woman

Serpent Bohème is a fragrance that refers to the famous protective jewel of Boucheron, also called Serpent Bohème. Thus, it is a nod to the history and prestige of Boucheron, while addressing the women of today, more free and emancipated than ever. Composed for a daring woman, it also echoes the symbolism of the snake, recognized as a protective animal. To create this masterpiece of perfumery, Boucheron called on one of the greatest perfumers on the planet: Anne Flipo. “Serpent Bohème embodies a free spirit,” she says, “independence, and elegance of course, without conventions or diktas. It celebrates day-to-day life, guided by beauty and dreams. The perpetual rebirth of the snake that shifts, like an endlessly renewed promise of happiness ”.

More specifically, on a purely olfactory level, Serpent Bohème is similar to a generous bouquet. This is based on two stars of women’s perfumery: rose and jasmine. Here, the best varieties of these flowers have been selected. The rose turns out to be delicious, fresh, voluptuous or luminous. Jasmine, on the other hand, is more solar. The whole is refreshed with mandarin and blackcurrant. Then, little by little, Serpent Bohème evolves towards a more woody and musky base, mixing sandalwood, patchouli, cistus labdanum and white musk.

Boucheron’s jewel bottle

Obviously, to echo all his know-how as a jeweler, Boucheron has bet on a bottle of great beauty. This one is covered with snake scales, as a reference to the iconic jewel of the brand. Gold is also ubiquitous. Appearing both in its juice and on its cork or on its name, it gives a more prestigious and luxurious look to this bottle. An elegant black satin tie also wraps around her neck like a necklace. Everything is contained in a delicately embossed box, covered with white scales. From then on, only Serpent Bohème lacked a muse worthy of the name. It is now done with the model Joséphine le Tutour. In the advertisement for this feminine perfume, she appears with loose hair, dressed in a white blouse and wearing Boucheron’s Serpent Bohème necklace. The frank and direct look, it symbolizes here the natural elegance and the liberated personality of the women of our time.

In 2020, the Boucheron house is rewarding women with a new olfactory creation. As if to plunge us back into its history and echo its unique expertise as a perfumer, Boucheron delivers a fragrance called Serpent Bohème. As a reminder, this is the name of one of its jewelry collections. In addition, the snake has always been the emblem of Boucheron, who considers this animal to be a symbol of freedom, infinity and protection. So what is the recipe behind this elegant gold-tinted bottle? Here is the full decryption of his recipe.

Anne Flipo, perfumer for Boucheron

To design this perfume, Boucheron called on one of the greatest perfumers on the planet: Anne Flipo. Here, the latter had the difficult task of embodying Boucheron’s free-spirited character and daring, while drawing inspiration from the Serpent Bohème collection. Therefore, when asked what this perfume evokes, she replies: “Serpent Bohème embodies a free spirit, independence, and elegance of course, without conventions or diktas. It celebrates day-to-day life, guided by beauty and dreams. The perpetual rebirth of the snake that shifts, like an endlessly renewed promise of happiness ”. So how does she go about symbolizing daring and continual renewal? Here is what about its perfume with multiple flavors …

Serpent Bohème, a floral bouquet rich in relief

Serpent Bohème is a fragrance that remains faithful to the essential codes of the femininity, while offering certain touches of originality. Thus, it revolves around a floral bouquet, a classic in women’s perfumery, associated with other more daring ingredients.

Serpent Bohème, a heart of rose and jasmine

The heart of Serpent Bohème relies on the most famous duo in women’s perfumery: rose and jasmine. However, it surprises us because it mixes varieties of rose that perfumers are not used to using. The Turkish rose, a great classic, is associated with a desert rose from Mallow, which is much rarer. The result is a gourmet bouquet but fresh, luminous but voluptuous. To this is also added sambac jasmine, giving the whole a more solar and dazzling sensation.

Fruits to air the whole

Fruits are also added to this fragrance, as if to give it a more aerial energy. Here, the mandarin reinforces its tangy and sparkling side, while mingling with a gourmet and juicy blackcurrant. Therefore, Serpent Bohème awakens the senses and makes us want to discover more about it.

More musky and chypre base notes

Finally, Serpent Bohème by Boucheron ends with a darker and more sensual base. As warm as you want, it contains cistus labdanum, gliding over the skin like a real caress. Sandalwood, on the other hand, is rounder and more comforting. It gains in persistence and character on contact with patchouli. The whole is still illuminated with white musk, for an infinitely vibrant trail.
