About Haksizlik

Making legal rights accessible — because injustice thrives when people don't know their rights.

Our Mission

Justice starts with knowledge

The word "haksizlik" comes from Turkish, meaning injustice — the experience of being wronged without remedy. We chose this name because it captures exactly the gap we exist to close: the space between an unfair situation and the knowledge needed to respond to it.

Legal systems are built on the assumption that people know their rights. But most people don't. Contracts are dense, statutes are buried, and the path from "something unfair happened" to "here's what I can do about it" is rarely obvious. That information gap is where injustice takes root.

Haksizlik exists to close that gap. We translate legal concepts into plain English — not legal advice, but legal literacy. Every article is written so that someone with no legal training can understand what the law says, what it protects, and what concrete steps they can take.

What We Believe

Our values

Clarity over jargon

The law is complex; explaining it shouldn't be. We strip out legalese and write for real people dealing with real problems.

Practical, not theoretical

Every guide ends with action. You'll know what to do, what to document, and where to go next — not just what the statute says.

Honesty about limits

We are an educational resource, not a law firm. We're upfront that nothing here replaces a licensed attorney for your specific case.

Free and accessible

Legal knowledge shouldn't be paywalled. All our guides are free to read, ad-light, and accessible on any device.

How We Work

Our editorial approach

Every article on Haksizlik follows a consistent structure. We start with the problem — the real-world scenario that brought you here. Then we explain the relevant law in plain terms, citing the statutes and agencies that apply. We follow with a step-by-step action plan, and we close with a clear disclaimer about what this information can and cannot do for you.

Our content is researched using primary sources: federal and state statutes, agency guidance (FTC, EEOC, CFPB, HUD), and established legal precedents. We update articles when laws change materially. However, because laws vary by jurisdiction and evolve over time, we strongly encourage you to verify current rules with your local consumer protection agency or a qualified attorney.

We believe an informed public is the first line of defense against injustice. When you know your rights, you can assert them — and that changes the balance of power.

What we don't do

Haksizlik does not provide legal advice, does not represent individuals, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. We cannot tell you whether you have a case, what your specific outcome will be, or what you should do in your unique situation. If you need personalized guidance, please consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
